There is something about the stillness of an empty domestic space that is just slightly forbidding: a sphere of order in a chaotic world. Yet a slight gesture repeated over and over disturbing nothing but rather fixing in it a beautiful web of copper threads can render create a magnificent transformation. I had heard an interview with a woman whose home had been invaded by thousands of spiders. Room after room the spiders completely encased her home in webs forcing the family had to flee. While thinking of Pershpone who all day long weaves and undoes during the night and Arachne the spider, who spins her webs with such speed, in this residency of 3 weeks like the spiders, I transformed the space.
