All Dressed Up

This was a temporary installation for Design Week on Granville Island. I was interested in the degradation of a pattern as it is viewed from one window to the next to evoke a sense of movement. The site, a parking garage became uncharacteristically ornamented with an intricate pattern that recalled the stained glass windows seen is less industrial places. The pattern is one that I used when I was learning to embroider and draws from the wealth of folk patterns of my Latvian heritage.
